Eric Update
For those of you who were praying for my friend Eric, here is an update that I just recieved from his wife, Sarah.
Just wanted to send a quick email out to give you an update on Eric's condition. God has been so good! He's recovering faster than anyone expected. I'm sorry that I didn't get the previous update out to everyone, it's been kind of crazy with the baby and everything with Eric. So, here's the scoop:
-the first dressing change showed that the areas they thought were 3rd degree are actually only 2nd degree, no skin grafts! The fake skin has taken very well.
-Eric has a new type of stretchy dressing on which allows him to do more like brush his teeth and eat most things, though he still needs help with some things.
-Physical therapy is very difficult and causes a lot of pain but he has been working so hard that he's up walking again, stairs are a little difficult. He has to stretch a good bit so that the new skin doesn't heal tight.
-he has been healing so quickly that he was discharged from the hospital on wednesday and brought back to CT in an ambulance because he couldn't comfortably get into the car. We are staying at his parents house until he is better able to navigate stairs and until his skin has healed a bit more. He needs to stay cool and dry as he's healing. Unlike our apartment, his parent's house has central air. We have visiting nurses coming in and will be going to the Bridgeport outpatient burn clinic for weekly follow up.
Thank you so much for your prayers. We praise God for how he is working in this situation. Our concerns currently are:
-the possibility of infection while his skin is healing
-protecting his skin from sun exposure for a good bit of time
-strength to continue working on mobility.
~most important, that God would be glorified in this situation
Praise God! Thank you to all who prayed for Eric. Please continue to pray for his speedy recover. God is so good. Amen!

Prayer Request
Hello Bakerstown Alliance,
I have a friend from Grove City who could really use your prayers.
His name is Eric. Eric was severely injured in a bonfire accident at the camp he was working at in Maine on Thursday night (7/12). He was preparing the bonfire and poured a bit of old gas on it, he lit the fire from afar but some of the gas had dripped down a piece of wood and pooled behind him so when the fire ignited it engulfed him. He immediately stopped, dropped, and rolled, but he was already burned. He has 2nd degree burns on his face, arms, and legs, and 3rd degree burns on his right elbow and right calf. EMS arrived and transported him to the nearest hospital, then he was transported via helicopter to the burn center at Maine Medical Center. He spent 8 hours in a burn procedure room where they treated his wounds and placed a type of fake skin on his arms and legs and wrapped them in ace wrap. His face is covered in ointment. They may have to use grafts on the 3rd degree burns. He then spent two days in intensive care and is now on a regular surgical floor. He is on bed rest and cannot use his hands.
I'm sure this is a very trying and scary time for him and his family. He would appreciate your prayers. Thanks guys....
